Join us and we'll promote your band, your website and your gigs.
You will be listed in the bands section (both A to Z and genre sections) with your online details and your gigs will be listed too.
Find and connect with bands to play with
Search the list of bands in your genre and put on gigs together. Share the cost of promotion. Design and print gig posters to sell together. Genres are annoying but if a promoter is looking for a certain type of band and you are what (s)he is looking for then you make yourself easier to find.
Free but feel welcome to donate! you will have good promotion on this site and be part of a great community of musical artists. Post adverts, sell, find bands/ band members and review services.
Anonymously review the places you've played / rehearsed / applied to
Tell us what was good or bad about the venues or rooms you've used. Did a promoter get back to you? Did a magazine review your demo?
Original bands we need to unite to get gigs and get noticed. Nothing wrong with cover bands or open mic nights.
But fewer people are hosting original music nights
So we need to act now and improve the local scene for original acts... especially in the smaller towns.
Better together
Lets help each other find or put on gigs and promote ourselves.
Support each other
If you want people at your gigs, you should be going to their gigs. Unite and connect with other bands. Work together sharing equipment and promotion duties. Use the (coming soon) facebook page to discuss ideas and to organise gig collaborations.
An idea.
We musicians are never gonna make much money if we don't pull people into our gigs. In my opinion most local band gigs are often overpriced. I also think that it would be better to have 50 people at your gig and make no money on the door, than get paid £50 to play to 3 people. Change my mind!
Personally I'd go to tons more gigs than I do if they were free. And we don't make much money because the venue has to take it's cut. What use really is say, £50 between three or four band members considering how much time and money we put into equipment, rehearsals, fuel etc.
We need the venues and they benefit from live acts pulling in the punters. My idea is that we put on free gigs (or charge a nominal amount) to encourage friends and strangers alike to come and see you. I'd certainly walk in off the street into a bar that was playing free live music. I would turn away if entry was £5 and I had no idea who the band was. That way the venue will be happy to see more customers and you can make money by selling your merchandise to punters.
I love to pick up merch from a gig. From a badge to a CD depending on how well I liked the act. Plus it is more advertising for you. Even if you don't want to shell out on getting yourself a load of merchandise you can have an honesty box and encourage fans to pay what they think for you.
Once you are established and people are flocking to your gigs you can begin to sell tickets because you know people want to see you and you've earned the right to charge them for the privilege.
Policy and disclaimer.
You are free to review any services and give your opinion. I encourage positive comments but if you have a negative try to settle for a thumbs down emoji and leave it at that. If you must comment try to temper any negative comments with something good to say. If you have a specific complaint try to work it out with the venue / studio first. If you still wish to post a negative comment you must be fully confident in your facts and able to prove anything you say. There will be a right to reply and you will be held responsible if your review is malicious or untruthful. Remember it will reflect badly upon you and upon this site. That being said, negative reviews should benefit the wider community so be constructive.
